This is the official website of Welsh Schools Rugby Senior Group. You can find  rugby news and results of the games played in the league and cup competitions organised by the WSRU Senior Group during the season. Keep up to date how your school or college is doing, how far it is progressing and how likely it is to become champion of your regional competition.

Funding 2015-2016

The funding process to be used  to fund schools and colleges who participate in WSRU (Senior Group) competitions in season 2015-2016 is as follows

1.WSRU (Senior Group) League Competition

  1. Home teams will receive a grant of £30 per game to contribute towards incidental expenses such as referee, pitch marking, kit washing etc

Welsh Schools' Rugby Union Senior Group annonce new competition

The Welsh Schools' Rugby Union has announced a new competiton for the 2015-2016 season. As a result of the success of the 2014-2015 league structure the new competition looks to build on that success and hopes to increase the profile of senior rugby in schools and colleges in Wales. The new competiton to be known as the WSRU Senior Group Champions Cup will see champions crowned in each of the regions. The four winners will then play two semi finals and a final to decide which school or college is the overall champion.

WSRU Senior Group Plate competition sponsored by Bay Resourcing 2015-2016

The first round of this year's Plate competition sponsoed by Bay Resourcing will take place on or before the 4th November 2015. The first round draw is :

Bishop of Llandaff School  v  Garth Olwg

Bridgend College  v  Chepstow School

Barry School  v  Aberdare School

Duffryn School  v  Bishop Gore School or Pencoed School

Croesyceiliog School  v  Crickhowell High School

Caerleon School  v Whitchurch High School or St. Cenydd School

WSRU Senior Group Gulliver's Sports Travel Cup draw 2015-2016

The draw for the 2015-2016 WSRU Senior Group Cup sponsored by Gullivers' Sports Travel has been made. First round fixtures are to be played on or before November 4th 2015. Once again the final of the competition is set to take place on the Millenium Stadium courtesy of the Welsh Rugby Union.This year's competition will mark the twenty fifth anniversary of the competition in which time only twelve schools or colleges have held the trophy. Competition will be keen again this year to be the side who hold the cup aloft of the Millenium Stadium.
