WSRU SG Gulliver's Sports Travel Cup

The quarter final round of this year's competition is due to be completed on 27th January 2016. However, eager to progress in the competition some fixture have been completed already. At a very cold Cardiff Arms Park yesterday holders of the Cup Llanishen High School took on near neighbours Ysgol Glantaf in front of the Rygbi Pawb cameras.The two sides met in a league fixture just before Christmas with Llanishen narrowly defeating Glantaf. However, on a neutral venue there were high hopes of a reversal of the result.

Vase and Plate Quarter Final Fixtures

The quarter final stage of the WSRU SG Vase and Plate is due to be completed by wednesday 27th January 2016. In the Vase competition several games have yet to be completed from the previous round which will have an impact on the quarter final round. The Vase quarter final draw is:

Cardiff High School  v  Lewis School/Merthyr College

Ysgol Y Cymer  v  Bryntirion

Gowerton  v Dyfryn Taf/Olchfa

Maes-Y-Gwendraeth  v  Ystalafera/Pembroke College

League Champion's Trophy

As announced in August 2015, a new competition will take place this year. It is to be called the WSRU Senior Group League Champion's Trophy and will see teams representing the four regions batle it out to be crowned best performing team from the League competition. Most leagues are in the final stages and the process of arriving at the teams to contest the competition is underway.

Cup Quarter Final Draw

Despite some poor weather at the end of term all bar one of the second round ties took place in the WSRU SG Gulliver's Sports Travel Cup. Cup holders Llanishen High had a tough encounter with Brynteg School but booked their place in the Quarter Finals with a 12-0 win. They will meet near neighbours Ysgol Glantaf in the next round after the Cardiff school defeated Brecon High School 34-9.
